Do you Look Good to YOURSELF?
We ALL do it, don’t we? Look in the mirror and say not too nice things about ourselves…. our bodies, our minds, our situation, our lives…
I recently heard a presentation by my friend and colleague, MJ Paris (www.posimpact.net) that reminded me of many of my clients (OK, me too at times!). She suggested that we “Look Better to Ourselves” embracing who we see in the mirror. WOW! Sounds EASY, doesn’t it? Ha ha, it’s not! But it DOES get easier with time and practice. And who deserves to love themselves more than YOU? YOU do it all (and more, huh?) , don’t you?
When we perceive ourselves as lacking in any way, our subconscious will support us in that thought, subverting much of the good fitness, health and eating changes we ‘really really, honest I want it!’ to make.
So, no more “do I look fat in this” or “my thighs are the size of Texas” comments or thoughts! Work “wow! I am hot and awesome!” into your personal, self conversations, and smile when you say it!

Hi Linda,
I’m flattered…You are a true example of “Positive Energy” in life and the workplace. As women, I think it takes us some time to accept our overall goodness and to fully realize that we always have choices – especially with respect to our attitude and our body. Many of us grew up with the Barbie Doll as our image of the perfect woman! What an unrealistic bummer! I’ve learned that developing a healthy relationship with myself begins with honestly accepting where I am (each day) and having the courage to embrace what I see in the mirror. If I need to make some changes, I pray for the courage to “see them realistically” and the “positive energy” needed to get into action. The Serenity Prayer has been one of my strongholds for years! You are a jewel…Thanks for being you!
