FIT Training Announces New Support Network –
Helping Women Get and Stay Fit

MILFORD, CT - There’s a new women's social network coming to town with an eye on fitness and fun. Linda Gottlieb, President of FIT Training (www.fittraining.net) has announced the launch of FITChicks, an innovative and entertaining monthly support group centered around fitness and improving women’s health. One of Linda's specialties is finding small, easy lifestyle changes that can make all the difference in a person's fitness level. FITChicks will meet at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton (2nd floor Wachovia Bank Building) one evening per month, beginning Wednesday, January 16, 2008.

Physical inactivity is a major health concern in the U.S. In fact, over 60% of Americans don’t get enough physical activity and 25% are almost completely sedentary. Each year, as many as 300,000 deaths in the U.S. are due to physical inactivity and poor diet. Complicating this, even though most Americans are aware of the health benefits of physical activity, they can’t seem to get active.

Linda says, “Women find it extremely difficult to carve out time for themselves, between caring for children, careers, spouses, homes and even pets, there’s precious little time for self care.” She goes on to say “I am thrilled to reach out to women across the region to offer support and lifestyle strategies that can help women fit fitness into their busy lives in a fun, monthly gathering.”

Each FITChicks meeting will include Linda’s “FIT in 15” – a simple 15 minute exercise program followed by a lively discussion on a health and fitness topic. Members will be encouraged to share their “successtimonials” and commitments for simple lifestyle changes to try in the four weeks between meetings. Drop-ins are welcome.
